Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman has been a distinguished psychologist since 1993 and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. She was widely credited as the pioneer of modern studies of the memory of witnesses and the role of children in witnessing. Prof. Goodman has published widely, received many grants and been recognized with many international and national prizes. She has advised many administrations and agencies across the world about policies and studies pertaining to child victims in the justice system. She serves as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional associations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
