Anika Noni Rose is an American actress and performer. Her most well-known role is the role of Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robertson in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose is an American performer, songwriter and actress. Most famous for her voice as the voice of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, the very first African American Disney Princess. She was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Her other starring part, playing Lorrell Robinson, in Dreamgirls (2007) that has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she performs the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on the show Starz's Power. She is also known for her performance in the theatre, particularly in her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in Caroline or Change, the Broadway production of Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical. Also, she starred as Beneatha Younger in The Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) in which she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
